Assembly News for December 2005
| Check out the Events page for several new and fun events added for January and February! Remember there is no meeting December 28. Starting in 2006 we will be back to meeting twice a month. If you have forgotten what part you signed up for the January 11 meeting, you can contact the Mother Advisor. Remember to be memorizing your assigned parts for the School on February 4, where we will be welcoming many girls, Grand Officers, and adults from across the state - it will be here before you know it, and rituals are not allowed at the School! :) |

Old News from November 2005
| Girls, please check with your parents and check your calendars, and let the Mother Advisor know ASAP if you will be attending the Mid-Year Meeting in Houston January 21-22 and the School of Instruction February 4. The Mid-Year Meeting is a statewide event. We would likely drive to Houston very early Saturday morning January 20 for the events that day, then stay overnight, attend events Sunday morning and then drive back. The schedule is as follows starting at 9:30 am - tour Shriner's Hospital or visit Musuem, lunch at Scottish Rite, statewide meeting/initiation, Rainbow Cheer Competition, Mexican fiesta dinner, and talent show. Sunday morning will be a church service and brunch. We must know by the December meeting who is going so we can make reservations. There will be some cost involved, but we will work to keep it as minimal as possible (join us at the fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 12!) The School of Instruction is an event for our district, and will be held at our regular meeting place. We just need to know for sure you are able to attend that day so we can make sure we have all of the parts assigned so everyone can begin learning their work. For information about the official Texas Rainbow shirts, visit the Texas Grand Assembly web site, click on "Texas Grand Assembly Members" (login info was included in the last e-mail), then click on "GA Shirts." While you are at it, click on "TR News" and subscribe the the Texas Rainbow News, the statewide magazine; it is always full of useful information! A big welcome to our newest two members, Sara E. and Pamela P.! And a big thanks to all who helped with the initiation, and to Round Rock Lodge for lending us their facilities for the initiation. We should be having another initiation soon, watch this site for details. |

Old News from October 2005
| Our initiation will be held Saturday, October 29, 10:30 am. Reception to follow with cake, punch, and pizza. Our usual meeting place at the Scottish Rite Temple in Austin is booked, so we will be meeting at the Round Rock Lodge, 111 Masonic Way, Round Rock, Texas ( Round Rock is just north of Austin). We will be initiating three girls. If you would like to help out, please contact our Grand Deputy Mrs. Patton, who is organizing officers for this event. |
| Also, our thanks to the Austin Demolay, who donated $100 from one of their fundraisers to our Assembly. Thanks also to them for allowing us to work future fundraisers along with them. We have two coming up very soon, please see the Events page.

Old News from September 2005
| The Sept. 28 informal meeting is cancelled, as some members still have family in from Rita evacuations. STARTING IN OCTOBER, AUSTIN ASSEMBLY WILL MEET EVERY 2ND and 4TH WEDNESDAY AT 7:30 PM. Also stay tuned for information on the initiation once it can be rescheduled.
| UPDATE: The Sept. 24 initiation is being POSTPONED until a later date. We are expecting bad weather due to the hurricane, and don't want to ask you to travel in it! The new date will be posted on this site as soon as it is decided. We will still need almost all stations filled when the time comes! |
| Our biggest news is that we will be having an initiation on Saturday, September 24, at 2 p.m. We will need lots of help, we need pro-tems for pretty much every single station! If you are from another Assembly and planning to attend and help, please let the Mother Advisor know you are coming and what stations you know so we can be sure to have every part covered for the ceremony. |
